Worth a visit
Front 9 makes you think, quite tight and not always a drive from the tee. Back 9 is more open and seems to play longer and not as well thought out. Greens are fast ish but true so so bobbling to the hole, if you miss it's your fault! Course was in great condition.Reviewer Rating

Unfulfilled potential
Fantastic location high up on the hill at Hinksey with superb views over Oxford and its dreaming spires. For location, and course topography this could be one of Oxfordshire?s best.
But...
It seems to be suffering from a lack of direction and clearly, investment.
I first played here about three years ago. At that time many of the bunkers were GUR. I've played here three or four times since, and nothing has changed.
The tee boxes are very variable - some are passable, others have been dug out and even after a year of lockdown and tons of time for ground work, are on temporary tees &/or tee mats.
At ?24 visitor green fee it is not the most expensive course in the county, but it seems overpriced.
Overflowing bins, no course marshalls, an apparently very lax dress code (t-shirts/football shirts and cargo shorts) and players sharing one set of clubs between two - the whole picture is of a club down on its uppers, and willing to let anyone play as long as they pay the green fee.
Buggies - ?32 each - I've had cheaper buggies at premium courses.
Fairways - average. Plenty of weeds about. Greens - very sluggish, but had been very recently hollow-tined.
Would I return?
Without substantial investment in the bunkers, tee-boxes, and course standards it would be a resounding no.
I think this place has the potential to be a great venue, but it feels a bit ?fish & chip?. From the converted agricultural shed/outbuilding as clubhouse, the machine coffee in a plastic cup at ?1:80, to the poor tee-boxes, dreadful bunkers, and poor standards of dress etc I think ?24 is way overpriced.

Disappointing
Decent layout, let down by old holes on many greens not being filled in.No tee marker identification to show what tee you are on and also few signs to say how to find next tee!
