Location: Located just off Balgreen Road,Carrick Knowe Golf Club is situated less than 10 minutes from the city centre with views to the east towards Edinburgh Castle, to the north Corstorphine Hill & south towards the Pentland Hills. Entry to the Golf Course is from Corstorphine Rd (A8) or from Gorgie Rd (A71) onto Balgreen Road then turning into Glendevon Park where the Entrance to the course is visible under the bridge.Carrick Knowe Golf Club is on the left hand side of the car park.

Heard it was a decent course but the 8 of us agreed it was in very poor condition.The 17th had a twig for a pin and the green was the worst i have ever seen.Won't be back

Council course so dont expect too much. The course wasn't in great shape when we visited - and there are no real 'facilities' to speak of.

The holes here are quite straight, so it is pretty forgiving (as long as you can hit the ball fairly straight, you'll be fine). Good for a beginner, not too hard.

The course itself is ok, pretty forgiving if youre a bit wayward off the tee and 9 times out of 10 you will be able to go for the green with your second, no matter how bad your first! Municiple and the facilities relect this, only a putting green (in bad repair) and 2 warm up nets. The green fees are over priced, the course is flat and not the most exiting, although some of the holes are quite challenging when the wind gets up. if youre looking for a confidence boosting round and a low score, this is the course for you.

Standard municipal course. Good layout, but below average course condition with poor to no yardage markings. Too expensive for the overall standard. Nice easy way to play with none of the private course rules.

Council Course, reasonable effort, greens can be inconsistent but also pretty good at times. Front 9 is particuarly good.

Not a bad municipal course for the money and if you'll play the Edinburgh Leisure courses often, the Leisure Card will save a bit of cash.
A pretty straight forward course that can get a bit boggy in the winter and the rain. Not too many difficult holes and again, similar to Craigentinny, a decent 18 holes if you just fancy a quick round.

A very good council course. Challenging for beginners and interesting enough for intermediate palyers. Course is well kept. very good as part of the Edinbrugh leisure golf pass.

Good for a quick round but over-priced for what it is. Flat and fairly easy. Watch out for dog-walkers.

A council course but don't let that put you off. Tends to be in good condition and is close to the centre of Edinburgh.
Not especially difficult as there is very little punishing rough which makes for a relaxing round.
See if you can hear the animals from the nearby zoo as you play!
