It was a lovely course. Wonderful views - though the weather didn't help these. For a 28 handicapper it's a bit long. Some nice holes - the 9th being my favourite. Unfortunately I'm not a good enough player to best it! But well worth playing. We were made very welcome. Would play again.

Played here twice this weekend and stayed at the hotel with Golfbreaks. Excellent course/views etc, but hard into a strong head-wind. One or two "ordinary" holes on the back 9, but otherwise great.

Had a weeks holiday at St Austell and played the course twice. I was fortunate on the first day as the weather was warm and the wind light. The course played well and was in good condition. There were a nice number of holes that were reachable in regulation even for short-hitters such as myself.
The second day the wind got up a little and gave me a small taste of what the course might be like when the wind blows even harder. Still enjoyed my round.
Both times I played the course wasn't very busy and I got round in 3 hours playing by myself. These were twilight tee times at 4.00pm and cost £25.
I thought that the overall package was good value and enjoyable. Wel worth a visit. The Course

I am a member so slightly biased. This is definately one of the best courses in the area.
Course always kept in excellent condition, greens can be tricky as some undulating and two tier. Excellent views, play at first light on a sunny morning to be gobsmacked.

Carlyon Bay is on the Cornish south coast, and has magnificant views over the bay. The wind was blowing a gale, and proved a real challenge. OOB is basically the cliff edge, and best not to retrieve balls. Front 9 was difficult with the wind behind, but helped on the way back to the clubhouse. I would thoroughly recommend as a great experience and watch out for the mineshafts. The clubhouse is inviting and friendly. Excellent day out.
