Initially you think, YES!! Its short...yes - flat...yes - generally samey......yes - and no par 5...granted, but for a beginner, or someone looking for a quick 18 holes, and cheeky twilight rates, its not bad. And you'll feel like this for the first few rounds, but then the above points start to dig in, you look for somewhere a bit more satisfying, challenging etc, and you realise you've outgrown the course. Youll at this point be beating your own expectations of the game, feeling good as you haven't lost balls for ages, until you play somewhere else and realise.....actually, its all been a bit easy and actually, its an easy 18 holes, but dont forget, despite the initial satisfying smugness, followed by candid realisation of your skill when tested elsewhere.......you will have come on here, but its just time to move on from the comfort of the Valley (Brent).First.....you really need to try to lose a ball here, most fairways run parallel to others, with little real rough to have to dig around in. there are a few water hazards, not counting general public (this is apparently a park as well? i stand to be corrected) picnicking on the greens in the summer or just having a lazy walk with their dog down the middle of the fairway. The greens are generally well kept, winter tees in place to maintain the normal tees and fairways...fair. It does get soggy in the rain, but not where you would think. To start off - 3 straight par 4s, down, up and back down a hill,, followed by a nice simple par 3, which then leads to a couple of challenging par 4s (at the first of which my playing partner and I discovered - in the summer - a group of kids getting wrecked, who he nearly hit unknowingly on a pull shot, probably caused by the other group of kids also getting wrecked by the Tee off) which are long enough to temporarily make up for a lack of a Par 5, followed by a mix of straight par 3's and 4's until you find yourself back at the top of the hill you started on on the 17th, then straight down and back up you go to the 18th Green. The eventual monotony is broken up by a.....oh, its not. Actually, you might find yourself a party by the stream and (only) dogleg on the 10th i think it is. The back 9 plays a lot quicker then the front and although your playing in the middle of an urban space, it doesn\'t feel or sound like it, which is very much a quality to behold! although your idyll is then squarely bashed by the fella who\'s turned up out of nowhere on the tee ahead of you, having made his way in, and onto the course from the many general public access areas (still think its a park). The colder it gets obviously the quieter the public intrusion, and despite how hard you try, you wont be able to help yourself looking across the fence at how the other half play, literally! as Wes Middlesex runs alongside Brent Valley. Never play around the end of the school day on a warm day unless you want Kids (who i dont mind btw in any other scenario) by the tees, playing football on the fairway, having a picnic in slice spots etc etc etc\\I probably sound bitter about the place, which i didn\'t mean to be when i started this review, it took a while for me to be prised away from here so I dont mean to do Brent Valley a disservice(?), as it played a part in my formative golfing years, but the fact that i accepted this as the way it is for the not particularly thrifty peak price, maybe because it looks nice to start with and starts to feel like your playing at a proper club (which i am in no doubt of, it is, and the facilities arent bad!) i feel there is much better out there, at a much better price, in better condition, giving more of a challenge.

its a short, simple course, but with a twilight fee using an online booking for £10 its not terrible. The greens are ok sized but pretty flat, fairly true but very, very slow. its located in a public park so you get dog walkers everywhere, i wouldnt reccommend to any serious golfer,
however, i play with some higher handicap players, and Brent valley is ideal for them, theres not too much trouble so its ideal for building on the fundamentals of the game, theres also no long par 4s or any par 5s which means even a total hacker can get it around

Course is very cheap, but you get what you pay for. Pitch marks on greens not repaired, people wearing jeans, etc A lot of beginners on the course which is fair enough, have to start somewhere, but the course isn't very safe. Holes 1-4 run parallel to each other so when walking up the second fairway you have people driving off on holes 1 and 3 and beginners aren't renowned for their ability to drive straight! Almost got hit a few times by balls landing on the wrong fairways. Coupled with that the tee's are only yards away from the greens for the next hole, so when teeing off you have half an eye on people approaching green you've just played incase they hit off to the side. On a plus point the fairways and greens were in good condition, but we had to tee off from matts on every hole which I don't like and this was mid March. Wouldn't play here again.

Pretty standard public parkland course, not very inspiring, not very long (drove two of the par 4's) and was not really very impressed except it was cheap, so if you are on a budget get stuck in!

Decent course given the price
Course is in decent shape given how cheap it is. Winter membership is well worth it. Greens in terrible condition though, like putting on a winter fairway effectively.

Great municipal golf course throughly enjoyed the course. Please beware of car park scam give your details to the clubhouse otherwise £100 fine. Car park is managed by private company and there to fleece you.

Nice little course in North London
The course was nicely kept and although not much in the way of variety in the early holes some of the mid round holes required a little more thought and course management.

Easy play public course
Easy course which allows you to slice, hook and hack you way round. A few weird ppl on the ages and walking around which is a shame as they have no idea what they are doing

Very forgiving up and down course.
Straight forward course with some long par 4?s. The greens were in fantastic condition for a public course. Shame those that played them didn't repair some of the pitch marks.
Good deal with breakfast
