In respects to the overall condition of the coarse i would say it was excellent. The greens are very demanding, there isn't a straight put to have anywhere which is one of the reasons I became a member that and the price.

This is my review of Breedon Priory Golf Course which is situated near Wilson,Derbyshire. After being told about this course by several golfing pals of mine,it was decided that Which Golf Magazine would go and take a look.We arrived and were greeted by helpful and informative staff, which is always helpful. The course itself is not mega tough,,but quite a good test for low and high handicappers. The first tee goes over water ,past a ditch that is situated within driving distance,to a large undulating green. There is a top tier and lower, which,if you miss the right level is a really tough test for mediocre putters. As you move on round the course,it is noticeable how much the owner, and indeed the course staff, take pride in their work.As we played on,the course tests you with several quite difficult par 3's,4's and especially the 6th which doglegs tight left, only being really accessible by drawing the ball.It is a really tough par 4,which I have to say I played as a 5.7,8 and 9 follow which are all really good holes. On to the back 9,starting with a quite tricky par 5.A good drive will still leave you with a blind second shot which also must be accurate,or a ditch awaits.following this two par 3's the first quite straight forward, the second over water to a quite big, receptive green. The next hole is over trees, dogleg left, looking easy but ,to be honest ,if you misjudge your chip downhill,it could be very costly.Par 4's follow, until you get to the 17th,which is another very tricky par 3.The 18th sees you driving off towards the clubhouse, water on the right, out of bounds on the left. The green slopes from left to right, and errant shots will be punished.Overall we enjoyed this course immensely, playing it several times since. It is very good value for money, and we definitely recommend to all our readers.

14 of us played this hilly course and considering the snow/minus temperatures had recently, thought was in good condition. All on winter tees which is to be expected for time of year, but they are secure unlike some. Nice picturesque setting with some tricky holes . The greens have difficult slopes making putting interesting wherever your ball is !!
Lee the professional was extremely helpful in adjusting our tee times and the barstaff were friendly and welcoming. Overall for bargain £12 online you really can't argue when other local clubs are nearly double that. Definitely will be back !

Played here today for the first time. Not a bad little course but there are certain aspects the club need to address:

Firstly, the greens are just too soft and suffer greatly from deep pitch marks and bobbles. This makes putting very tricky, even from close range. Unfortunately not all players have the respect to repair their own pitch marks. The only benefit from the greens being this soft is that you can stop your ball dead from any distance.

Secondly, with it being autumn, there were literally thousands of leaves on a lot of holes. There had been no effort from staff to remove (or at least blow them away) and my playing partner actually lost a ball on the fairway because it was just impossible to see it amongst them all. They're all over the tees and greens aswell.

Thirdly, the tee times are just too close together. We were congested and stuck before a fourball for the entire 18 holes. About 4 or 5 holes were backed up behind us too. Slow play is not necessarily the clubs fault but there must be stricter rules/controls to prevent it.

One good thing about the course is the price. We teed off at 2.15pm on Sunday and it was only £12 for the round. However, considering the above, I suppose you get what you pay for.

The course was generally in good condition, the fairways were very neat and tidy as was the rough. The greens are what let this place down as they were very bobbly & almost too soft as there were plenty of spike marks around the holes and often on your lines.

Locker rooms are pretty dreadful, just a few benches and 2 showers.

Overall, not a bad little course.

Nice little course. Played after a lot of rain and found the greens to be in decent condition but variable pace as some had drained and others were damp. Fairways were ok but could have done with a cut.

£20 for a midweek round, £12 for twilight. Good value compared to courses of a similar standard. Greens can be a little bumpy but are otherwise ok. Most greens are sloped. Knowledge of the course is beneficial as there are many fairways and greens that cannot be seen from the tee because they are over the brow of a hill or round dog legs. Playing in autumn is tricky as the course is covered in leaves. Bunkers are fairly solid even at this time of year, but rarely come into play anyway. Good scenery.

adequate short to medium length course with an interesting & reasonably chaenging layout, needing good course knowledge in places. The course is maturing nicely. This has the potential to be an extremely good course, however is hampered & let down by the quality of the greens & the bunkers, which seem to be filled with builders sand, & rock hard, rather than anything to get yourself stuck in & challenge an escape.
The course gets very wet & muddy very quickly after rain.
With proper management this could be an excellent track
Green fees are too high for the quality of the greens, though about right for the challenge & potential. But the membership prices are still tempting for anyone right on the doorstep.

Nice short couse. The condition of green can be improved. Not good course for winter player, because winter tee and winter green makes the course a little bit boring.

A good test for all abilities with some testing holes and some easier ones too. The greens could do with a little work as they are not that great, you do need to give your putts a good rap. The bunkers also need some proper sand.

Pretty little course, a good mix of straight forward and completely blind holes. Slightly confusing layout for a first-timer not helped by lack of signage. Generally very well kept fairways and greens, bunkers are shallow, hard but quite small. Lots of ditches in play.
Nasty dog leg par 4 16th for a high handicapper, drive through a 15yd wide gap for 240yds for a 150 yd shot to the green (some hope!). Ideal landing area is about 30yds x 30yds.
Friendly members and small cosy clubhouse.
Quite difficult to actually find the carpark and clubhouse, but this sort of lends to it's charm.
