Played 2nd October 2013 for 1st time.
Friendly welcome from Pro Shop and members.
The facilities were very good and included driving range, short game area and practice putting green.
Very interesting and challenging course with 10 dog legs (5 left to right). Course planner/Skycaddie was invaluable to see hole layout and distances. Lots of stand out holes. Course condition was excellent. Greens were true with subtle breaks.
£16 with County Card was great value.
Me and my playing partner both thoroughly enjoyed it.

Tight parkland course with a wide variety of holes. Definitely a course where the driver is better off in the bag. I liked it a lot and would definitely return for another go. When you are not negotiating the tight tree lined holes, you are avoiding the numerous bunkers. Pretty dry and hard ground, which isn't surprising given the recent hot spell but much of the water hazards are stagnant and I suspect that the course is a different beast in the wet winter months. Greens were good and firm with subtle breaks for challenging putting. Good clubhouse, with a basic selection of lunchtime bar snacks and sandwiches and a decent locker room.

A friend and I just got a cheeky 9 holes in at Brampton, taking advantage of their twilight offer. This course is SERIOUS quality and all that for a tenner after 530pm!

The first hole is the one that everyone talks about and if you arent careful you will loose a ball or three here as the hole is surrounded by water on the approach and to the right and behind the hole is rough that you will never find your ball in.

The other hole that stands out for me was the 16th...very narrow fairway before a hard dogleg to the left and up on to a very small green. Again, if you slice or cut your ball its gone in to the jungle (actually, you could quite easily think you are in the tropics!).

Ive always wanted to play here but was put off by the cost of the green fees for non-members, but honestly, 9 holes for £10 is an ABSOLUTE bargain!

WOW, it was superb. Considering it is mid October, the fairways were very good, but the greens were absolutely perfect. I really enjoyed the way you have to plot your way around the course, picking landing spots off of every tee, ready for you tight approach shots through the tree lined fairways. I will be returning within a week. If this course was a little closer, I would definitely be a member. (Round played: October 2015 - Score: 75 Handicap: 6)

Played here on a Society day organised by one of my home club's Past Captains. Good weather made the playing conditions perfect for a course which has one of the hardest starting holes, and also possibly the hardest par 3 (the 4th hole) in the country. As the course is within a half hour drive of my home, and I'd never played it, I was not expecting such a gem.

There were quite a number of very picturesque holes, and whilst we occasionally wondered where we had to go to find the next hole, the overall impression was excellent. The course guide was very useful as some of the holes take very sharp doglegs, and positioning of tee shots is crucial.

The greens were in very good condition and a consistent pace, although they were a little slower than they looked like they would be (everyone leaving putts short of target). Greenside bunkers were good, but sand not evenly spread. I didn't visit a fairway bunker, but was told a number had lots of stones in them. Fairways were good. The rough was quite long, so punished inaccurate shots, and did cause some delays trying to find those stray balls!

Our package included coffee and bacon roll before 18 holes, ham eggs and chips at lunch time, 9 holes afternoon round and 2 course meal in the evening, and the value was superb. The staff looked after us very well, and the Club Captain was very friendly talking to our organiser after the event.

The only downside was to do with our afternoon 9 holes. Because of the layout of the course; the 9th green is as far from the clubhouse as you can get, so it was a very long trek back, and I will certainly be looking to only do 18 holes when I next visit, but I am certainly looking forward to that next visit!!

Golfshake Team ReviewLovely little track.
The people below that have complained about the walk from the 4th ect should really get out a bit more. Yes there is a walk but to complain and moan about it is silly.

This course starts off with a really tough hole. Tee shot positioning is key and if I played here again id play it differently.

I love 2 things about this course.
Firstly there are no 2 holes the same. Some are littered with bunkers and others surrounded by water.

Secondly, the greens. Perfect. No pitch marks. Dont need to say anything more.

Id highly recomend this course. I have rated the Facilities and Services fair as I didnt get chance to use them.

My first visit, now want to purchase a house near by and play again. Excellent course, glad I played there at last as I've heard about it. Now i've played it and happily scored 37 points. Full of timber aspects, the water hazzards, wildlife and very happy golfers made us feel right at home. Please go there who ever you are.

I have played Brampton a few times and the course is stunning and is generally kept in very good condition (last played at the start of April). As other reviews have said, a number of holes are challenging and you have to keep a level head, as you have to be playing very well to finish with the same ball you start with! I would however recommend a round , but buy a shot save guide to show you where the water is thus saving you the disappointment of finding it with a slightly offline drive.

Played midweek 04/10/2007 on work golf day. First time played.

Excellent course with a lot of water hazards and testing holes. Unforgiving for a high handicapper - take lots of balls. Course in superb condition.

Two sets holes with a bit of a walk between. Holes 1-4 and 16-18 amongst the trees with narrow fairways and lots of hazards. Remainder of holes more open and slightly more forgivving.

Card not very helpful - no map - so you'll need to buy a course guide at £3. 4 par threes are all relatively long - all over 150 yds. Remainder of holes shortish for their par but due to layout and hazards good startegy and sound technique is needed. Not too much need for the driver on this course.

Clubhouse is excellent with good changing rooms and showers etc. Large bar and outside seating overlooking the 18th. Small driving range plus practice green and chipping green.

Would definately recommend and would play again.

Great Challenge - Must play!

Lovely picturesque course with excellent greens. Great mix of holes be it Par 3's, 4's or 5's - short, long, dog legs etc.
Superb Driving Range facilities for pre round warm up!
Bacon butties from the Cabin on the 6th/14th hole not to be missed and very reasonably priced.

Only discovered this course in 2015 when a friend organised a day out for around 30 of us. It includes a few very challenging holes, not least the opening par 4 and their stroke index 1, par 3, 4th hole. Played most recently in a very well organised Senior Open. I do feel it is the type of course that you need to play a few times to feel like you are giving it your best shot. Greens were in good condition and reasonably quick without being silly. Quite a lot of water around, and unfortunately some of it was a bit stagnant - lots of pondweed which the geese, ducks and swans couldn't keep under control!

This course has its fair share of difficult holes its index 1 is a par 3, and has plenty of water to make you think about your shots. Greens which are just on the fast enough side, an easy to walk park course, overall a testing game of golf

I thought this course is a course of 2 very different halves which is clearly split by the 200 yard walk after the 4th and before the 15th. Although visually stunning the 1st and 4th holes are bordering on the ridiculous. The 4th requires a carry of 160 yards as there is no option for higher handicap or older golfers to lay up - this can make the hole unplayable for some. The holes between the 4th and 15th are very pleasant and give a good challenge to golfers of all standards. Once back on the "other" part of the course the 16th is a ridiculous hole as despite being a short dogleg par 4 you need to hit the ball in a 20 yard corridoor or you can be sat in the centre of the fairway with no shot to a green 80 yards away due to very tall trees.

The 17th again requires a carry of 160 yards and has no option of a lay up. The day we played there was a strong head wind meaning that the yardage was effectively 200 yards to clear the water- this is not possible for all golfers.

I think this course would get better if you played it a few times or played with a member but for 2 visitors of 14 and 13 handicap we felt that the course bordered on the "unfair" rather than challenging at times.

One final gripe!! The greens were very slow and the coring had not healed properly - thought this was poor for mid September.
