Golf course review of The Berkshire Golf Club

Played in early Jan and course had drained very well despite very heavy rain during the week. Played the Blue course , most holes were a good test with superb greens. Quite expensive green fees but excellant practice facilities and club house hospitality.

Quite a beautiful & stunning heathland course, the fairways may not be the lush green carpets of other famous courses but this course has a feel to it that makes it just that little bit special. The mature trees, the rolling fairways the rugged looking bunkers and the gorgeous heather make this course appear as if it has always been here. It looks like a creation of nature, what better compliment could the designer ask for, this course looks as though it is a natural feature of the land.

Two great courses - the Red is slightly tougher than the Blue in my opinion. Superb clubhouse and catering as well. Top quality.

Superb. A proper members' club, with two amazing golf courses. The condition of the Blue course was hard to beat. Very much looking forward to going back to play the Red

Played in a recent Charity Day on the Red Course at The Berkshire. I relaised that this was rated in the Top 100 courses in the UK before I turned up and so was expecting good things. I was not disappointed.

6 par 3s, 6 par 4s and 6 par 5s - more courses should be set up in this way. Not really a dull hole on the course - all with tree lined fairways - simply stunning. Given the time of year (mid Oct) and judging how many courses have suffered due to dry summer, the course was in excellent condition. The greens were especially superb - makes a big difference standing over a 10 footer and knowing that if you hit the right line/pace its going in - unlike most courses I play!!!

Probably rated unfairly as a 9 as it was heavy rain for the first 5 holes.

If you ever get the chance to play there don't hesitate.
