On my 5th year as a member here ... Great course that will test you off the white Tees Played with many a single Handicapper who struggled here Some testing holes 18th has buggered my scorecard many a time .. Greenkeepers keep the course in good knick especially in the summer Played all the snobby courses including Gleneagles .. Royal Dornoch.. and Roxburghe and would still play Barshaws Royal & Ancient first !! Record score off white tees is 86 playing a 20 Handicap

Parklands public course

Paisleys parkland course. During a drier season this course should and would play well. Lack of council finances shows, especially in and around the greens. The course was very wet underfoot and a little squelchy!!!

Just started playing golf at a fairly old age, enjoyed playing here, no pressure with golf etiquette etc, great for practice. Can't really compare to other clubs as h I haven't played anywhere else. Have to say it would be good if the flags and tee offs were all numbered, especially for us beginners trying to navigate our way round the course, especially at the 9th, hadn't a clue where I was going, even the route card wasn't that great, ended up playing 11th instead of 9th, no big deal will know better next time.
All in all, all right for my level and am looking forward to playing it again this week.

the course is a challenging course for those who are just beginning to play golf . It has good greens and not bad fairways but the facilities are very poor and lacking to be fair.

Arguably the best course in Scotland. Well not really. If your a decent/good standard of golfer the white tees are a good test. Its not as easy as everyone thinks and I'd be surprised if many people come from other courses and play to their handicap without playing really well. No sand but couple old bunkers that are full of long grass so sand would actually make it easier. Very difficult par 3s (off whites) and 18th wrecks plenty of cards everyday (again off the whites). Rough is very thick and pretty much unplayable when wet so need to be straight off the tee for decent score

Course quite good but lots of flooding & poor drainage- balls can & will plug on several fairways!
Shame one can see the cutbacks have taken effect with lack of course maintenance.

The course has had some trees added at certain holes and this makes it harder as you need to be accurate with drives etc.

Ricky

even in wet conditions the course holds up well, the bunkers shapes have grass in them that makes it harder to play out of them, there is no sand in the bunkers .

Only just taken up golf so the course is somewhat challenging. Unfortunately can’t really compare to others yet but had great time. Fairways all ok but greens are in bad shape at on some holes. Will be back for sure.

Barshaw is a council course ,there are bunker shapes with no sand which tend to over grow with grass, with the grass being cut periodically the fairways can be a bit long.
