First time playin atherstone golf club, wot a gem of a course, great layout and greens were superb,a lot of blind shots off the tee and into greens and not knowing the course could put you off your golf but I found the course fantastic some really great holes, you just didn't no what to expect on the next hole, would need to play it a few more times befor you start to knowing what shot to hit a where to hit it,but overall loved the course,it was great the way it was set out would recommend a buggie the first time you play it so you can drive up to see where your going ,a good walk, staff relaxed and friendly will need to pay another visit soon

First 3 holes are mickey mouse, then you enter the old course which are very pleasant. You then move to 10 - 13 very bland and boring ! 14 is a fill in card wrecker !! And then you move to 15-17,18 again old course lovely fairways and layout. Greens good condition but far too slow even in the summer.

Lovely club and very friendly its just really outdated with no services ! But cheap

Played on a Monday; only £12 per person! Very nice, 'links' type course. Accuracy will reward you far more than distance. Lots of blind shots, creativity sometimes required.

Very hilly though; you'd better be fit!

1st time of playing the course and 1st year of really starting to play golf. This one of the nearest courses to me and I loved it. Will be playing Atherstone regularly from now on. A very testing course with so many blind shots. But loved it.

This is a cracking course, quite short but tight and tough with blind shots and played much better than when I played it last time in April

This is a great course but not one for the faint hearted. Probably the most testing course I've played outside Scotland. Only 5810 yards but feels like double that with all the hills. There is almost no part of this course that isn't on a slope. Difficult for the first time visitor to score well here as there are lots of blind shots. You can only see 5 pins from standing on tees and one par 5 you first see it at 40 yards from the green. There is almost no margin for error. Miss a fairway or green by 8 yards and you'll end up out of bounds, down a huge hill or off in a ditch, you need to be straight. If you do hit straight you still have the howling wind to deal with. There is one temporary green in place on the 90 degree dog leg 7th but the actual green has had turf relaid so that's understandable. Course in good condition and friendly members make this a must visit course. It will open your eyes to how different golf on a hillside can be to a normal flat parkland track.
