Aberdare Golf ClubAberdare Golf Club was founded in 1921 as a Parkland course at Abernant, which is about a mile from the centre of Aberdare. This picturesque 18-hole golf course is famous for its mature Oak trees and was also a home club for one of Britains most famous golfers Mr Dai Rees, who was former Ryder Cup Captain. Dai Rees' Father was the club professional from 1938 to 1953 and his Mother was the Stewardess of the club. Aberdare Golf Club was the place where Dai Rees received his first golf lesson, the thirteenth hole was one of his favourite holes.

Location: We are located 0.5 a mile from Aberdare Town Centre, only 25 miles from Cardiff City Centre and 10 miles from the picturesque Brecon Beacons.

Golf course review of Aberdare Golf Club

The course was well presented although following days of heavy rain some of the greens were quite wet and there were wet patches on some of the fairways. Crossing is an issue on this course.

Clubhouse and new pro shop are good.Ample portions of good golfing fayre were available and the bar staff were very friendly.

The young pro was very attentive and eager to provide for all our society needs.

The visit was only marred by the hostile attitude of a few senior members.
