Teen Golfers Ready For Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Championship

By: | Wed 01 Nov 2023

Quinta do Lago is the environment for the latest Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Championship, which is being contested from 30 October to 3 November.

Some of the biggest names in junior golf will be featuring in the tournament, where their skills will be tested by the stunning yet highly challenging Quinta do Lago.

In total, 24 of the greatest young golfers in Europe are competing at the Algarve final, with the esteemed South Course hosting the tournament.

The layout boasts a par of 72 and was recently named Europe’s Best Golf Course and Portugal’s Best Golf Course at the 2023 World Golf Awards.

Justin Rose has been the headline sponsor of this event since 2019, and he forms part of an envious group who established their careers with a victory in this tournament.

During the last nine years, Quinta do Lago has hosted this event on seven occasions, and the competition is open to any golfer that is aged 18 or under from 1 January, 2023.

Labelled as the unofficial ‘major of junior golf’, the strength of the field is a testament to the reputation of this brilliant tournament.

Included within the field are golfers from Portugal, Ireland and the UK; the event will be contested in stroke play across 54 holes.

Both defending champions are scheduled to tee it up in Portugal as Dylan Shaw-Radford and Sophia Fullbrook committed to the tournament.

Another notable name is Connor Graham, someone who became the youngest-ever Walker Cup player on home soil in September - in addition to winning the Junior Ryder Cup at Marco Simone.

The competitors will be in for a treat when visiting Quinta do Lago, which has earned a terrific reputation for itself as a leading facility in European golf.

Three stunning golf courses are located on-site - North, South and Laranjal - all of which attract and impress visitors from across the world.

The South Course, which is where this competition will be contested, received an injection of investment and underwent extensive renovation in 2021.

Its magnitude extends far past the golf however, as 14 lavish bars and restaurants are also attached to the premises.
