A focus on Jeremy Dale - It's a kind of Magic

By: Adam Smith | Tue 06 Jul 2010

If you are taking part in Golf for Life 2010 on Saturday 17 July at the Grassmoor golf centre , you’re in for a real treat.

Even if you’re not taking part, make sure you get down to the course before 7.30pm to see the amazing Jeremy Dale and his ‘It’s a kind of magic’ trick shot routine.

Known worldwide for his amazing shows Jeremy is helping out throughout the day as well. He will be on the 10th tee offering players to ‘buy his drive for a fiver’ with all proceeds going towards Cancer Research UK.

Jeremy got into doing his routine around 1994 when he realised he could play left handed as well as right. He also saw some routines himself when he was doing his AA PGA qualification.

By the time he knew he could play the game both ways it was something he wanted to show the world: “I played golf right-handed for 18 years, and I’ve played the last 20 years left handed, so my show is really more than just trick shots, it’s the ability to hit the shots comfortably both ways, which even the pros find amazing and I’ve been told that my swing is a mirror image both ways as well.”

His shows around the world have included trips to Australia, New Zealand and all around Europe and every time he has encapsulated his viewers and you will not be disappointed with shots such as ‘The Kevin Pietersen’ and ‘The Happy Gilmore’

“All my shows are now done with just normal clubs” Dale said, having taken all the mimic clubs out of his routine.

“My show is unique because of the left and right handed hits, personally myself I don’t see it as a trick shot routine, but more of a skilful show of golf and what you can do with left and right handed clubs.”

It is an incredible feat to be able to play both ways, Dale has shot under par both ways and even more amazingly he has had five hole in one’s during his career, two hitting right handed and three hitting left.

Away from golf, Jeremy follows his beloved Manchester City as he has done for over thirty years and enjoys other sports such as cricket and rugby.
