Golfshake.com Open EM Qual - results

By: Darren Ramowski | Mon 15 Jun 2009

The second event in the Golfshake.com Open 2009 took place on Sunday 14th June at Mapperley Golf Club in Nottingham and saw 40 golfers battle it out for a spot in the Golfshake.com Open.

Organised by Lee Miller and Mapperley member Martin Millichip the entrants were treated to a great golfing test at Mapperley and once again in sunny and warm conditions.

Scoring was close at the top with a number of results tied and based on the countback system was Division 2 handicap player Lional Roberts taken the outright win with 37 points narrowly beating organising and club member Martin Millichip.

Lee and Martin organised a great day and Lee must win an award for the most sophisticated society scoring spreadsheet :)  but was great for also recording

Closest the pin: Chris Haynes

Closest the pin 2: Graham Lyas

Longest Drive: Mark Buthcer

Mystery 6: Milliship

Wooden spoon: James Spence

Worst Opening Drive/Hole: Tim Hawkins (for his tree pinball)

Full results for all entrants can be found on the events page /golf/view/760/scores/

After scoring, checking and validation the successful players making their way to the golfshake.com open after all the scores have been counted are:

Category 1 Handicap Group (below 18)

Martin Millichip (8) - 37 points

Craig Peters (11) - 35 points

Category 2 Handicap Group (18 and above)

Lionel Roberts (19) - 37 points
