Yes I know I can just look at the 14 reviews on Golfshake.com's golf course directory via http://www.golfshake.com/course/view/14044/Brampton_Heath_Golf_Club.html

but it doesn't beat asking the question and getting a direct response

Planning a round in the Festive break.

It's alright - nothing special but not too bad either.

Right next door is Northants County, much nicer course - designed by Harry Colt. Google maps shows the area as a single course, but if you look there are 2 courses. The one with all the trees is northants county - not to be confused with northants golf club which is over the road.

Really reccomend playing that rather than Brampton; I'd jump at the chance to play it myself.

Played there once in the Northants and Beds Golfers Alliance in March 2006 - a set of winter comps on the 3rd Thursday in Oct, Nov, Dec, Feb, Mar and Apr each year at alternate counties. I just checked and shot 1 over my 10 handicap. I remember it was very cold on the day we played, as the course is quite high so open to the wind, and there were some rather ugly (but necessary?) wind turbines spoiling the landscape.

I'm told there are nearby courses that are much better, but I have the philosophy that any day golfing is better than working.

One warning - Northants has County wide average speed cameras - don't get caught out.
