Darren, quick question was your footage two seperate swings one filmed down the line and one filmed face on or is it one swing recorded by two cameras synced?

Chris, 2 seperate videos.  They were interlaced using the Swing Zone software.

I'm going to check this out when I get my clubs next week. I got a nice new Casio FH20 camera to put to the test. It should be able to capture my swing in its horrifying glory.

Dave, I take it your not referring 'Impressive' to my swing

Paul, minor edit on the pricing in your post.  £9.95 or £19.95

Darren,

In theory I think this is a good idea, especially for people who are perhaps busy & don't have enough spare time to have a proper face to face lesson.

Me personally I prefer the normal route of lessons as the feedback is instant & in your 15sec clip you might have done something that you wouldn't normally repeat in your normal swing but because your being filmed it may make you a bit nervous etc.

Let us know how your progress goes.

John.

John, I agree and disagree

Yep agreed doesn't offer the same level of details as a single physical lesson nor a series of lessons but as you say good for people who are busy and may be nervous of visiting a pro.  Plus you get to play it back over and over again and the full lesson I have also provides set videos drills to help, but again as you say I may have just swung a certain way that day.

Any how, not to start a thread on the pros and cons of game improvement I am now off to do some work.

I will definately let you know how I get on.

I think a normal lesson is much better.  Its so hard to make changes based on a video-the difference between what you feel and do is great.  It is pretty impressive though and would be a good edition to normal lessons-particularly if you have a camera to video yourself as you progress and see how you improve.

darren-27.7???  BANDIT.  Ive seen a lot worse swings with much lower handicaps.

Cheers Matt, shall I take that as a compliment or mockery

You are quite right and whilst the software is available online and a fully online experience the software is also available to PGA pros and endorsed by the PGA to allow Pros to have an additional tool when teaching.  I had a lesson quite a few years back and had my swing videoed but never saw it again after the day. With this type of service you can go back to it nad view it online.

Wayne, I have in the recent weeks had a friend come to me who can empathise with how I feel about the game. After quite a lengthy discussion we've decided we are going to go out and play 18 holes two nights a week, maybe have a beer or two along the way and just try and have fun. So the irons I ordered two months ago, that I'm still waiting for may actually get used now, as opposed to put into stock or quickly flogged on Ebay.

Neither of us is going to get into that Competitive Scenario again, play in competitions and be subjected to the horrors that comes with it. We're purely going to play the game for some recreational enjoyment. Doing it in the evening as well means hopefully the course will be quieter so we're able to do our own thing, if we want to play quick we can, if we want to labour around and practice things we can. If we just want to pull up a chair on a green and enjoy a few drinks we can.

Darren,

All i posted was the info at the bottom of the swing zone link which you put up, where it states a swing check costs £9.95, and a full lesson costs £19.95. So which edit are you referring to Dazza???

Good luck with the swing lessons, you must be getting a freebie?? as we all just post our swings on here and between our own swing doctors Mr Pettitt and Mr Ley, get sorted for nowt

Paul,
