Darren's Analysis from the Swing Zone video analysis

By: Darren Ramowski | Fri 08 May 2009

With the golf season now well under way what better time to get out and improve my swing and ultimately my game.

With this though in mind I recently took the opportunity to get out, film my swing and try out the revolutionary new online golf video analysis and coaching system from the Swing Zone.

All that was required was me turning up at the local driving range with a friend plus camcorder and recording a 15 second clip of my swing.  I then registered and uploaded my video for the Full Lesson analysis and received everything back online.

The Full lesson gives you a voice over from a Pro who assesses the key positions in your swing and then comments in detail on those positions that require additional work.  Plus you get access to video practice drills in relation to the key areas to real work to improve your game.

As you can see from my experience it's quite a pain free task and a very worthwhile insight in to how your swing measures up.  I know I tend to lack distance and the video analysis picked up on this.  It was great to see the technology in use highlighting areas in my address stance and posture that could be improved including my weight distribution to aid with gaining those extra yards !

The analysis moves through the full swing picking up on key positions and areas where you can improve.  For me that was 3 key areas pretty much tied together around weight distribution, transition and through the ball.

I found it a great benefit and the analysis very focused concentrating on key areas rather than picking up on every little fault.  Yes I have an out to in swing path sometimes causing a fade/slice tendency but you can't fix everything in one go!

Let me know what you think by watching the full video and analysis.   I'm now off to the range to try out some new swing thoughts!

All you need to have for a Swing Zone lesson is a video clip of your swing that was filmed using a mobile phone, a DV (Digital Video) camcorder or similar recording equipment.   Your swing is then analysed by a PGA professional and you receive back a detailed summary with a voiceover from your pro, some hints and tips as well as video-based practice drills to help you improve your swing.
