What the club says: Cretingham Golf Club is set in 165 acres of beautiful rural Suffolk. It is a picturesque par 71 parkland course with the river Deben winding its way through it. The flat terrain and easy access make Cretingham one of the most user-friendly courses in Suffolk and once you have played here, you will most certainly want to come back.

Myself and 5 friends have been coming here for 5 years now, we go again tomorrow for the best weeks golf of the year, fantastic value for money, the log cabins are very well equipped and sleep 6 easily. The club house is very friendly, the golf course is always in reasonable condition and the pubs nearby are very good for beer and food!!! A little gem of a golf course.

Just played 3 rounds here in mid August. Fairways were very good, some very hard but that's not surprising really. The tee boxes were awful though wth divots and grass too long. Greens were fine but very slow. Some quite tricky greens on this course. On the card, it looks quite short but it has a lot of interesting short par 4's needing an accurate 5-6 iron off the tee and a decent wedge into the green. Ditches everywhere !! Decent par 5's. Stay right of the white marker post on the 11th if you're hitting more than 200yds off the tee or you'll end up in the pond. All in all, a nice little course that just needs a little TLC.

My home course. Very friendly, well run club. A challenging course, not overly long, but you'll need good course management. Does get wet under foot in the winter but recovers very well. Now in the process of opening two new holes (Aug 09) which will add a par 5 and a long par 4.

I have played this course 5 or 6 times and its a strange place in that the drainage isn't great so winter time it can be quite boggy , however in good weather its a lovely little place to go .
