Played in the monthly medal yesterday. It was really blustery with a 2 club wind.I was quite pleased with my front 9, shooting a 46 (one over my handicap). The 10th at Whitehills is a 450yd par 4. Into the wind I hit a good drive followed by a good second shot, so I had just 50yds left to the green. Selecting a wedge I then proceeded to SHANK my ball into thick rough. I then dropped a provisional in case I couldn`t find my ball and did exactly the same again. The result - an 8 - on a par 4 hole where I was just off the green in 2! I then played the next 8 holes to my handicap, but the damage had been done - up another .1. What a frustrating game - I played well for 17 holes and yet still have my handicap go up. Ian
