The final golfshake.com event of the year took place at Marriott Breadsall Priory on the 22nd November 2007 on the Priory course.

Despite the weather being unfamilar for November with little rain and warm conditions, sure enough this all changed just in time for the golfshake.com event with snow 4 days before!  Thankfully the course held up and the weather stayed dry but cold ready for the event.

32 golfers arrived, enjoyed coffee and bacon rolls in the surroundings of the 13th century Priory, received googie bags from golfshake.com including tees, mars and cereal bars and a can of red bull to help on the final 5 holes, before getting ready to tee off at 9:40am

The course played well with good fairways and greens for the time of year and great to see no winter mats or greens in use !

Once again the day saw some good scores and some bad scores and despite there being 2 ringers (members of the course) there didn't seem to be any banditry on show

The pre event build up saw some fun heated conversations between Wayne Santorini and Chris Perry which continued on to the course.  The pre match theory was that Chris was some how a golf bandit but after the game to quote Wayne 'no he's not a bandit he really is ****'. Atleast Chris was able to walk away with his head held high and Wayne could head off to the local school for lollipop crossing duty with his glo in the dark jacket.

In the end the winning score was a respectable 36 points with 35 to second place, both in the same group and little did they know that until the final hole they there was 1 point in it which was over turned with a birdie on the 18th resulting in 4 points and 2 other there rival for the winner 'Tim Watson'.

Second place went to Kass Paricos who just missed out on that final hole.

Nearest the pin on the 6th went to Phil Cose with the longest drive on the signature 11th, elevated tee over road, going to Tony Davies.  The bonus nearest the pin on the 17th went to Paul Millward with a superb 5 foot effort on the misleading 180 yard par 3 from a very elevated tee.

Further photos can be seen at the events page and the results on the results page

Thanks to all those that attended, especially my playing partners Paul and Gary, who travelled over 2 hours from Norfolk, anyone travelling the same sort of disance and it was great to see a large number of new members turn up at their first golfshake.com event.

Until next time.

Regards, Darren.

Can I just point out that the course, luck, my golfing ability and my mental stability consipred against me (the first three contributing to the last one).  Obviously Wayne was as sympathetic as everyone would expect him to be.

Despite my embarrassment, I had a great day and will attend again.  Target will be 20 points and a card much lower than 122!!!

Thanks for your efforts Darren.
