By: Golf Shake | Wed 22 Jan 2014

Get into GolfClubs across Warwickshire have teed up a special introduction to the sport which can be completed in a single day.

The Learn golf in a day courses are part of the national campaign to make it easier than ever for people to try their hand at the skills needed to enjoy a game that brings health and social benefits.

The sessions offer expert coaching from PGA professionals to allow those taking part the chance to learn the basic skills needed to enjoy a round of golf. The programme is offered under the umbrella of the Warwickshire County Golf Partnership.

Clubs taking part include Forest of Arden, the Stonebridge Golf Academy and Edgbaston.

Forest of Arden, in Maxstoke Lane, Meriden, is offering a ladies only day on February 8 from 9am-3pm with mixed sessions on March 2/March 22/April 6/April 19/May 11/May 24 and June 15. For further details contact 01676 522335

Julia Burton, county development officer for the Warwickshire Golf Partnership said: "Clubs across the county are making it easier than ever for people to give golf a go.

“It doesn’t matter if you’ve never played golf or haven’t picked up a club since your school days or an almost-forgotten holiday. You can get started by taking advantage of one of the beginner courses, which offer great value for money.

“Thanks to the proactive approach of clubs in Warwickshire, anyone interested in trying golf can find a course to suit them – whether that be learning skills in a day or with regular one-hour group coaching sessions over a longer period.”

Get into golf is a national campaign to inspire adults to take up the game and is run by the England Golf Partnership through its network of County Golf Partnerships, supported by Sport England and National Lottery funding.
