Double Award Joy for Isle of Man Golf Tours

The Isle of Man’s only dedicated golfing holiday tour operator is celebrating after securing two prestigious awards.

Isle of Man Golf Tours has been named Best Customer Service provider in the 2013 Tourism Awards, that accolade coming just days after the company was celebrated for its marketing and PR effectiveness at the Awards for Excellence.

Founder Martin Young said: “For a company which only launched 18 months ago, just to be nominated for two such prestigious awards was a real surprise and a true honour. We were blown away to be recognised at the Awards for Excellence and just a few days later to receive a top Tourism Award was just amazing.

“We are very serious about what we do, but also enjoy it. I like to think it is that passion, energy and enthusiasm which have made us stand out in these awards. To receive recognition from leading names in the business and tourism sectors of the Isle of Man for our achievements has made us extremely proud and is a real vote of confidence in the quality of the service we provide.

He added: “To be named Best Customer Service provider in the Tourism Awards, against outstanding competition, is particularly satisfying. At the Isle of Man Awards for Excellence, hosted by TV comedian Hugh Dennis and attended by leading government and business figures, Martin and business partner Ged Power accepted the Marketing and PR Effectiveness Award. A few days later the pair received the Best Customer Service prize at the annual Isle of Man Government Tourism Awards.

In order to be nominated for the Tourism Awards, entrants have to demonstrate excellence and innovation throughout their business, including their product, welcome, quality and service.

Nominations are taken online and in writing from more than 1,000 residents and visitors to the Island.

The winners are selected by a panel of judges made up of industry experts, business people and dignitaries.

Plans for the 2014 golf tour season are already in place, with fantastic offers for tailored-made trips to suit groups of all sizes throughout the year. New for 2014, are tour prizes for larger groups that include an overall tour winner trophy as well as individual and spot prizes to help make the tour even more memorable.

Martin and Ged continue to research local pubs, restaurants and the local music scene so their recommendations can hit the right note with golfers.
