Brocket Hall Unveils £450,000 Investment Plan

By: Golf Shake | Tue 10 Dec 2013

Brocket HallBrocket Hall Golf Club is to undertake a £450,000 investment progamme in its golf facilities to help maintain its position as one of the leading clubs in the country.

The famous Hertfordshire venue will carry out upgrades to a range of areas over the coming months including buying a new fleet of golf buggies and greenkeeping machinery, refurbishing the changing room facilities for both members and guests and redecorating its Watershyppes restaurant.

The forward-thinking plans have seen Brocket Hall invest £200,000 in purchasing several greenkeeping pieces of equipment including three Ransomes Jacobsen mowers, a Cushman Truckster and Utility vehicle, one Greentec Vibe roller and a number of ancillary products.

A similar sum is to be spent in spring next year on 50-plus new golf buggies while the visitor changing rooms are to undergo a £15,000 refurbishment, with all the showers being replaced and toilets and changing area upgraded.

In addition, the members’ men’s and ladies’ changing facilities are also set for a facelift together with the Watershyppes restaurant, and further improvements on and off the course are planned in 2014.

Brocket Hall has retained 99 per cent of its membership over the last 12 months and added 90-plus new members since the start of the year, and director of golf operations David Griffin believes the new investment will see the club’s popularity amongst members and prospective members continue to soar.

Griffin said: “Brocket Hall prides itself on delivering a five-star golfing product and high standard of service on and off the course to our members and guests alike and, in order to do that, it’s important that we continue to invest.

“The latest investment programme will ensure that the club and golf courses are presented in the best possible condition and is part of our on-going commitment to making  Brocket Hall one of the top places to play golf anywhere in the UK and Europe.”
Situated within 543 acres of stunning 18th century parkland, Brocket Hall boasts some of the finest golf facilities in England, with its two 18-hole championship courses famously named after the prime ministers who once resided there, Lord Melbourne and Lord Palmerston.

In addition, golfers can hone their skills at the first-class Palmerston Golf Academy; indulge in five-star dining at its award-winning restaurant, Auberge du Lac; enjoy a more laid-back meal in Watershyppes Restaurant or an overnight stay in the Melbourne Lodge.
