Golf1Million – The Biggest Prize in Amateur Sport

Golf1Million is a unique and innovative event that is open to amateur golfers around the world in which one golfer will win a $1,000,000 gold trophy the biggest and most valuable Trophy in both World and amateur sport

The format is simple, golfers purchase a limited edition Golf1Million shirt which then enters them into a draw giving them the chance to compete in a Strokeplay and Matchplay Grand Final in Las Vegas.  Those lucky enough to be picked out for the final will take part in a televised winner-takes-all event for the chance to win the $1,000,000 Gold Trophy.

The organisers have ensured that the event does not contravene the rules of golf and is open to golfers over the age of 18 and who have an official golf handicap.

A random draw will take place in July 2015 giving all entrants an equal chance of selection and the 50 golfers selected will be flown to and accommodated in Las Vegas for the duration of the Grand Final which takes place in October 2015.

Golf1Million was officially launched  at the London Golf Show in November 2013 and was created by Ian Whitty, an Irishman, avid golfer and entrepreneur who has run many successful golf tournaments around the world.

“We decided that it was the right time to give amateur golfers the opportunity to compete at the highest level possible. Golf1Million is that opportunity, because there is no other event like this and no other trophy of this value. As amateur golfers, we all dream about playing the final hole at the Masters or standing over a six-foot putt to win the Open, but it could never happen… until now. Golf1Million will recreate this experience for the golfers who are lucky enough to be selected. We see this as amateur golf’s first Major and we are putting a large budget behind it to reach as many golfers as possible,” says Whitty.

The cost of the high quality, Limited edition Golf1milliom shirt is €27, available through the Golf1Million.com website and at many of the golf shows taking place worldwide until mid-2015. Each shirt comes with a unique reference number that provides entry to the draw. There is no limit to the number of shirts one person can purchase.
