New Practical Golf Psychology Website Launched

By: Golf Shake | Thu 26 Sep 2013

Pre-Shot have launched their new website which focuses on helping golfers hit better shots and achieve lower scores

The Pre-Shot programme has been created by PGA golf psychology consultant Jon Finn, who has worked at the association’s National Training Academy at The Belfry and with golfers of all standards.

The website gives users access to the Pre-Shot training programme which Finn has developed during a decade of teaching and coaching.

The programme consists of a series of easy-to-understand golf psychology lessons which tap into the latest neuroscience and understanding of which parts of the human brain are used by golfers and is broken down into 30 minute, user-friendly sessions which demystify the mental aspects of golf and give the player simple, tangible drills and exercises.

Pre-Shot

“Golf is arguably the most mentally demanding of all sports and so I believe training and improving this aspect of the game is crucial to success for players of all abilities”, commented Pre-Shot Inventor Jon Finn.

“I am confident that The Pre-Shot training programme will be unlike anything golfers have ever seen before.

"We do not use the ‘black box’ approach to psychology which can confuse players, rather we explain in simple terms what is happening in the human during the golf swing and the game itself.

“We help the golfer to control these processes so that they play the golf they are capable of”.

Finn added,”I have worked with golfers of all standards from high handicappers to European tour players and the feedback has been consistently excellent. All of them tell me they have improved by using the Pre-Shot programme. I hope many golfers will visit our new website and experience the programme for themselves”.

Through Finn’s work, Pre -Shot Golf Lessons are already being delivered around the country by a number of PGA Professionals. The programme allows them to deliver a series of 30-minute golf psychology based lessons on the range or the golf course, with a club in-hand, hitting balls.

The Pre-Shot programme’s model of training includes (6 x 30-minute lessons):

  1.     Stop concentrating on the wrong things as you strike the ball
  2.     Stop destroying your confidence after your shot; build it instead
  3.     Stop doubting yourself as you set up to the ball
  4.     Stop ignoring Activation; begin your routine with it
  5.     Stop making poor decisions that cost you shots
  6.     Stop letting your Monkey Brain win; play and practice properly

Golfers themselves are also using the Pre-Shot iPhone apps and physical training aids which are available to purchase from the app store and via the website at www.pre-shot.co.uk
