Derbyshire Clubs Support Get into Golf Drive

By: Golf Shake | Fri 12 Jul 2013

Get into GolfWith the Open Golf Championship just around the corner at Muirfield, there has never been a better time to Get into golf.

Clubs across Derbyshire are making it easier than ever to give golf a go and enjoy the health and social life benefits the sport can bring.

DERBYSHIRE’S Get into Golf campaign has seen clubs organise lots of activity to coincide with the Open Golf Championship to encourage more people into the game. The activities provide an open invitation to all would-be players to get in the swing at golf clubs and community events across the county.

Get into Golf is part of a national campaign driven by England Golf which aims to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to take up the game.

Visitors will also be given information about further coaching and membership offers from local clubs and other projects supported by the Derbyshire Golf Partnership, which aims to grow the game in the county.

A wide range of activities are on offer at clubs throughout Derbyshire, including:

  •  FREE Taster sessions
  •  Family Taster days
  •  Open Days
  •  Subsidised Golf Coaching
  •  Golfer – Non Golfer events
  •  Women only Golf Coaching
  •  Pupil & Parent promotion

The scheme is being backed by a marketing and promotion campaign being organised by Derbyshire Golf.

Details of all the activities happening around the county can be found on the Get into Golf website www.getintogolf.org

Derbyshire Golf Ambassador Stuart Davis, who plays on the European Challenge Tour Player, says: “It is fantastic that so many clubs and facilities in Derbyshire are supporting the Get into golf campaign. We have had so much national sporting success recently and golf is a game that everybody can enjoy, whatever their ability.”

The campaign is designed to introduce new people to the game of golf and hopefully go on into golf club membership in the future.
