Plan Ahead & Don't Miss the Action Golf Live App

By: Darren Ramowski | Wed 16 May 2012

Golf LIVE AppTech-savvy golf fans can guarantee they see everything they want at Golf Live this weekend [May 18-20] thanks to a new free app launched by the organisers.

With golfing greats and celebrity swingers scheduled to appear throughout the three-day event and the action spread across 10 different places within the show, visitors could find it hard to keep on top of what’s happening but the Golf Live app will ensure they don’t miss a thing.

iPhone and Android users can set the app to alert them with reminders when they are at the event, and it can include everything from nine-time Major winner Gary Player meeting fans in the autograph area at 10am on the opening morning right through to the final all-star play-off involving all the famous faces present on Sunday afternoon.

To get the app visitors should simply go to the App Store or Android Market and download Golf Live from Apollo Mobile. As well as alerts, they will receive free wi-fi at the event and the chance to enter exclusive competitions.

It also features maps to Golf Live including a Google Map option where users can check in their exact position at the London Golf Club, and for anyone who is running low on battery, Apollo Mobile will be present in the tented village with a limited number of phone chargers.

Ryder Cup winning captain Colin Montgomerie, Europe Tour winners Thomas Levet, Pablo Larrazabal, Rhys Davies and Oli Fisher, and victorious Solheim Cup captain Alison Nicholas will be among the top professionals showcasing their abilities in clinics and skills challenges as well as mingling with fans.

In addition, a host of golfing celebrities will be joining them during the golfing extravaganza, with Formula One driver Heikki Kovalainen, supermodel Jodie Kidd, former rugby player Austin Healey, Strictly Come Dancing’s Anton du Beke, ex-Arsenal and England footballer Lee Dixon and broadcaster DJ Spoony among the famous faces lined up.

As well as meeting and learning from the big-name golfers, visitors have a host of interactive features to enjoy, including free golf lessons; club-fitting; the opportunity for a Golf Monthly swing MOT; stunning displays from the 2010 world long-drive champion Joe Miller and world-renowned trick-shot artists Jeremy Dale and Paul Barrington; and autograph sessions from all the star golfers, including Montgomerie signing copies of his book,  while on-site catering is supplied by Jamie Oliver’s Fabulous Feast team.

Tickets for Golf Live, which takes place from May 18-20, cost just £20 for adults while under-18s can gain free entry by registering on Golf Live’s website, for more information or to buy tickets visit www.golfliveevent.com.
