GoKart Automatic makes easy even easier for golfers

By: Adam Smith | Wed 31 Aug 2011

If you have ever moaned about emptying the dishwasher or changing the channel when the TV remote is broken, GoKart has launched the powered golf trolley for you – the Automatic.

The GoKart is already hailed for its simplicity and ease of use but the new addition to the award-winning British design makes easy even easier. No longer do golfers have to adjust fiddly dials and switches; now, simply hold the trolley’s handle and start walking for it to match your pace perfectly.

Even upon letting go of the handle the GoKart will continue at the pace you set and to slow it down just hold it once more and reduce your speed.

Chris Catford is a director of GoKart and previously launched Hill Billy trolleys along with his father Joe – the original inventor of PowaKaddy – and he believes the Automatic was the natural next step for the product.

Catford said: “Since launching the GoKart in 2007 we’ve had tremendous feedback on how easy it is to use.

“There are no complicated latches, connections or fittings and people really seem to like that so we thought the best way to improve on our success was to make it even easier.

“Now people don’t have to worry about adjusting the speed to exactly match theirs, it happens automatically”.

The GoKart retails at just £244 with the Automatic feature available as an optional extra for a further £40.

Weighing in at just 8.2kg GoKart is as easy to lift as it is to set up, with no fiddly catches to master, just slot the battery into the trolley frame and strap on your bag.

The powerful 230W motor can maintain a jogging pace if needed and comfortably takes the steepest of golf-course terrain in its stride, and after a round, the trolley can be swiftly folded to fit in any boot, reducing to just 26x58x61cm.

GoKart comes with an 18-hole battery as standard – 36-hole and lithium batteries are also available for a supplement – and the sleek modern design is available in green, blue, red, pink, orange or black.

Golfers unsure whether a powered trolley is for them can rest easy that the product comes with a unique 28-day trial period, at the end of which a full refund can be obtained even if it was used every day.

And GoKart’s unrivalled customer service also includes a two-year warranty on the trolley, one-year warranty on batteries and a free courtesy kart if yours is ever out of action, ensuring customers are never kept off the fairways.
