Weather for Golf - Know Before You Play!

Launched in 2010 Weather for Golf is a new UK & Ireland weather service which forecasts based on your exact location and also provides hourly forecast data over the upcoming 6 hours period, perfect when playing your next round!

Weather for Golf is the first sport specific forecast providing highly detailed, club specific information to users and provides an unprecedented hourly forecast over the upcoming 6 hour period.  Powered by data from The Met Office, and enhanced through Weatherfor’s proprietary engine, the free Weather for Golf applications provide information you can rely on at any time during your upcoming round, or to give you insight to plan your future rounds.

In addition to the iPhone App,, users will be able to experience the very same functionality within a downloadable Desktop App which can be set to their favourite course or locations. The simple to use comparison view available in all versions will offer the benefit of comparing two courses or venues to check the weather during any period from the next six hours out to any point in the next six days.

Furthermore, customisable Web Widgets are available for free to all UK and Irish clubs to upload and host on their own site allowing members and guests to view the detailed weather for their chosen club and help when choosing, for example, whether to play in the morning or afternoon. With a simple “get and share” process this feature should ensure a rapid take up by clubs offering enhanced value to viewers and an increased rationale for visiting the club’s homepage.

The PGA of Great Britain & Ireland has used the existing Weatherfor Golf operational system for the past 3 years and is supporting the new applications.
