Rife putters have ladies win around the world

Posted by: Adam Smith on Tue 06 Jul 2010

Rife Putters continued its incredible year in the ladies game this weekend with victories for its putters at the LPGA
Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic and the LET Tenerife Ladies Open.

Alongside the first place finisher on the LPGA - Na Yeon Choi - Rife saw its putters used by 7 of the finishers in the top 10 positions (including ties).

Choi rolled her Rife Abaco with great assurance all week but despite having led from round 1 she still needed to hold her nerve to sink a 12 ft putt at the 72nd hole to make the 4 way sudden death play off. After all parring the first play off hole, Choi knocked in a 3 footer for birdie to see off the opposition and give her a wire to wire victory.

It was quite a turnaround for Choi who had missed her first cut for 2 years the previous week. Choi commented, “After that, I feel I need to trust myself more……so I changed putters for a good setup."

Along with Choi, Rife saw world no.3 Jiyai Shin roll her Rife 400 Mid Mallet to 5th place, Inbee Park (2 Bar Hybrid Tour Mallet) finish 6th, Hee Young Park (2 Bar Hybrid Tour Blade) and Katherine Hull (2 Bar Hybrid Mallet) tie for 7th and Beatriz Recari (Barbados) and Kris Tamulis (Antigua) tie for 10th.

At the LET Tenerife Ladies Open, England’s Trish Johnson took the title rolling her Rife IMO to a 14 under total after four rounds. This was Johnsons first win since 2007 and comes just a week after her tie for second at the Portugal Open.

These 2 victories and the continued use of Rife Putters by the best players in the ladies game, mark the progress that Rife is making in 2010. Rife was the second most popular putter brand at the LPGA this weekend with 18% of players choosing to use its putters and the numbers on the LET are rising weekly. This is all despite the fact that Rife still holds dear to its policy of not paying any player to use its putters. The best players in the ladies game are choosing to roll a Rife and are reaping their rewards on a Sunday afternoon when the winners’ cheques are handed out.
