Greeper Laces - new innovation
Are you someone that gets annoyed when your laces come undone? Well this latest invention from Peter Greedy may be the answer to your problems.
Greeper laces are the amazing new shoe laces that can be applied to almost any lace-up footwear. Fit Greeper Laces to your footwear and you’ll never have to tie your shoe laces again.
The idea came about when the middle of Peter’s three children was struggling to tie his laces up. Along with the frustration of having to regularly tie the laces all the time and the fact the laces were getting ‘tatty’ as they were dragged along the floor, Peter had what he describes as a ‘Eureka’ moment and got started on the product in his garden shed.
Along with input from friends, family and his first customers Peter finally invented Greeper laces, a patented device, can be applied to any situation where the two ends of a cord are tied together and replaces the traditional ‘bow’ knot typically used for shoe laces etc.
How does it Work?
By threading the laces through a single central aperture and putting 4 stoppers in the strategic places, the Greeper lace mimicked the appearance of a regular “bow” type shoe lace knot and enabled the wearer of the shoes (or the parent) to easily loosen and tighten the shoe laces. Furthermore the “bow” would never come undone.
Greeper Laces are loosened by pulling on the pull tab of the central toggle, but cannot come undone remaining ‘always tied’. The laces are then tightened by pulling on each lace loop at the point where the special stopper is located.
The Future
Peter has had a terrific response from customers, and the laces on sale at his local golf club but soon Peter hopes that he can manufacture a move that will take the product into the mass market:
“That is the plan, but at the minute I am a one man show, but I have plans that will hopefully get the product out there sooner rather than later”.
Peter is in touch with ex-Olympian Kriss Akibusi and double gold medallist Dame Kelly Holmes as her ‘on camp’ initiative is trying out the product.
Other trying out the laces are women’s triathlon athlete Chrissie Wellington and several rowers training to be at London in 2012.
