Callaway Launches Steelhead XR Fairway Woods

Callaway has launched its Steelhead XR Fairway Woods, a modern and powerful reinvention of the unmistakable shape that allowed the original Steelhead to become one of the best-selling fairway woods of all-time.

Engineered with a modern Hawkeye Sole - re-contoured to increase versatility and smooth turf interaction to promote a clean, square contact from every type of lie - Steelhead XR features a steel face, a 6-gram J-36 carbon crown (20g lighter than the previous XR Fairway crowns), and a low and forward CG, promoting easy launch and low spin, like the original model.

Steelhead XR features Callaway’s industry-leading next-generation Hyper Speed Face Cup technology; incorporating an extremely thin and flexible boundary area, it encourages fast ball speed across a larger area of the face for long distance, even on mishits.

Callaway’s proven Speed Step Technology, developed from a unique collaboration with aerospace experts, also improves the head’s aerodynamics to promote faster head speed for more distance.

A wide variety of lofts are available, including: 3+wood (13.5), 3-wood (15), 4+wood (16), 5-wood (18), 7-wood (21), 9-wood (24) and Heavenwood (20.5). Women’s Steelhead XR Fairways are available in 3, 5, 7, 9 and Heavenwood models.
