Successful Week for Nippon Shafts at Bay Hill

By: Golfshake Editor | Wed 22 Mar 2017

Weeks after having five players inside the top ten at Riviera Country Club for the Genesis Open, Nippon Shaft celebrated another victory and four golfers placed highly at the Arnold Palmer Invitational this past weekend at Bay Hill.

The 33-year-old Australian winner played the Nippon Shaft N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 130 X-flex steel shafts in both his irons and wedges en route to shooting 11-under par with rounds of 71-66-71-69—277.

He made a 51-foot putt for eagle on the 16th hole to pull ahead, and made clutch up-and-downs on his final two holes to seal the victory.

His winnings came to $1.566 million and he received an iconic red cardigan sweater in honour of the late Arnold Palmer.

Meanwhile, both players who tied for second also used Nippon Shaft. The 40-year-old San Diego native used the Nippon Shaft N.S.PRO MODUS3 Tour 105 steel shafts in his irons to shoot 10-under par for the week.

The 33-year-old from Aiken, South Carolina used the N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 120 TX-flex steel shafts in his irons and the MODUS Wedge 125 shaft in his wedges.

Tying for seventh at 7-under was the 37-year-old former U.S. Open champion, who played N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 120 TX-flex steel shafts in his irons and the MODUS Wedge 125 shaft in his wedges.

“Nippon Shaft would like to congratulate the winner of this year’s Arnold Palmer Invitational, along with the two runners-up and the fourth player who finished in the top 10,” said Hiro Fukuda, Head of Sales and Marketing for the company.

“Nippon Shaft always is pleased when the best players in the world honour us by trusting our products to compete against the greatest players in the game.”

Nippon Shaft’s popularity on the world’s major men’s tours continued to grow in the 2015-2016 season, with 137 players on the PGA and European Tours utilising steel shafts created by the Japan-based golf shaft manufacturer.

Players utilising Nippon Shaft products won 12 times, using four variations of the N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour steel shafts in their irons and one player using the Wedge 115 shaft.

“Nippon Shaft is proud and gratified that its product penetration continues to experience meaningful growth year after year on the world’s major men’s golf tours,” continued Fukuda.

Meanwhile, Nippon Shaft continues to be the preferred shaft on the LPGA Tour, with several players having recorded victories on the world’s predominant women’s pro circuit.

Over the years, Nippon Shaft recorded hundreds of victories on professional golf tours worldwide, as the best players in the world increasingly chose to install the company’s shafts in their irons and wedges which are manufactured in Japan to unparalleled quality standards.

Nippon Shaft products are available globally either as stock or custom shafts in many of the world’s top iron brands. In addition, Nippon Shaft products are available through Nippon Shaft’s dedicated global club fitter network. Details of these can be found at www.nipponshaft.com.
