Lucky 13 for Farrow at Gtour Event

The Gtour tour bus rolled into De Vere Dunston Hall, hosting its 4th Gtour event in as many years, at the weekend for the 2nd event of the 2012 Gtour Race to Cyprus. The assembled field of players were faced with tough conditions following weeks of poor weather right across the UK.

Playing in his 13th event, Russell Farrow a 13 Handicapper from Rusper Golf Club claimed his 1st victory on tour since taking part in his first event early in the 2011.

Farrow wasn't letting the weather worry him and just concentrated on the task in hand "Before the competition my plan was to get over 30 points and try to get into the top ten to make sure that I get to semi finals and then from there on to the final "

After securing his first win, Farrow said "I did not perform as I would've liked in the qualifying tournaments last season and just managed to get in the back door for semi Finals. This year I wanted to get through by performing well"

Following an 8th place at Carden Park and now a 1st at Dunston Hall Farrow has set a good pace on the Race to Cyprus Order of Merit currently placing 4th overall with twice Gtour Order of Merit Winner Shane Davies back in 1st place .
