Hi, I'm looking to organise an event which as well as serving as a Golfshake event will hopefully also double up as a South team meet and greet and build up to the North v South.

To get an idea of geographica availability could you let me know roughly where abouts in the South you are so I can look to arrange prior to the main North v South event.

UPDATE: register for the South Team here: http://www.golfshake.com/golf/view/6335/

Regards, Darren.

In the depths of nowhere about as far south as you can go, whilst staying on the mainland. Only ponies and cattle to be seen. The 2 nearest golf courses have all kinds of wildlife walking around them and not a single chav or druggie to be seen anywhere.

Then again not played for well over a year now. But if you choose, say, South Winchester  I might just be tempted to dust the clubs down. If you'll have me, that is

Darren VW.  If you coincider yourself a Southerner then yes.

We organise an annual North vs South matchplay event, which will be in it's 6th year this year and we generally have 2 teams of around 26-30 players taking part so a great event.

I'm just trying to give the South team a pre game meet-up and a bit of team building prior to the main North vs South.

The South have only won once - http://www.golfshake.com/community/northvsouth/history/

Yes Darren, i would consider myself as a southerner. I do believe Northants falls in the southern half of the north/south split.

Darren R you have a P.M

Hi Darren.

Just had a quick look at those registered for South team and only 4 live north of Berkshire.

Maybe mr Marshalls idea of further south wouldnt be such a bad idea.

I will travel to the event anyway so just keep us posted.

To me its the southmidlands Darren LOL !!!

In my opinion this is the best area in the country for golf courses.

There are loads of fantastic courses around the a3 and m3.

I am not suggesting we play Sunningdale or Wentworth but there are numerous others in the surrey / berkshire sand belt, its just the expense and the likelyhood of holding an event at them.

Looking forward to the venue you choose anyway.

Tim.

South Winchester is just off the M3.

I'm sure I could get a good deal as I have held a number of games and competitions there, including the South qualifier a couple of years ago.

The clue is in the name of the golf course  .....S O U T H   Winchester

Simmons, if, (no sorry) when I beat you....You promise never to play golf with me ever again, or even be on the same golf course I am playing

As long as Simmons can't find it, that's all that matters!!!!!!

I'll book it tomorrow.

As a matter of interest...Is there a likely date for this?  It's been a month since it was first suggested!!

I do have a few planned trips coming up April/May/June
