One relatively small point Barry has got wrong I'm afraid

With regard to the last point, it is my understanding that the USGA invokes a condition of competition permitting relief without penalty for embedded balls 'through the green' in all their championships, which can cause confusion to those of us that watch their televised events.

It is in fact not a CoC but a Local Rule as specified in Appendix I Part B 4a.

It is on the 'Hardcard' of all the major tours and the Masters in addition to the USGA. However, the R&A do not have it on the hardcard for any of their competitions including the Open Championship.
