Golfshake Open 2011 - Fri 28th Oct

Resurrected for the 2011 season and more informal than previous years before the full Golfshake Open is reinstated in 2012.

The empathasis is on fun and social like Golfshake events of old.  Whilst the majority of places will be taken by those players or have competed in previous events there will be 8 places open to anyone.

The event will take place on Friday 28th Oct at De Vere Staverton Park, hopefully before the colder weather and just before we change the clocks.

Invites are going out at the moment but up to 40 people can compete in this one off event for 2011.

Invites will be:

• 24 - Top 3 players from each 2010 qualifier
• 4 - Top 4 from 2009 Open final
• 1 - 2008 Open event winner
• 3 - Top 3 from 2008 Order of Merit

8 additional places will then be available via lottery.

I'd be well in for this, but unfortunately in the highlands that week.  Roll on the 2012 events though!!

Just a thought, but given my post on the "Worst weather you have played in" thread, is Staverton Park in late October really a good idea?

Id love to play but is it worth the long drive south and potential of crap weather.

Just got a bit of bargain at the hotel, 2 nights for 2 people for £108 if anyone is staying over

Matt, I sent invites to the players fitting the invite criteria:

These are in the invites from past events and 2011 criteria, final notification has now been sent.

I hope to confirm the 8 oepn lottery spots/with possible extras sometime on Weds.  Obviously I'm organising in less than 5 weeks so this is likely.
