Society Day 17th July

Posted by: user266363 | Sun 3rd Jul 2011 10:23 | Last Reply

Hi All

We have a cracking day planned for the 17th July, Sunday.

Coffee and Bacon Sandwich on arrival. a 9 hole yellow ball competition. This is a team event, we will have teams of 3 and each team will have a yellow ball. Each of the 3 players take it in turns having the yellow ball and the person who has the yellow ball score for that hole counts to the overall teams score. The scoring is stableford.

Then we are having a 3 club 9 hole challenge. You are only allowed to use a putter and 2 other clubs of your choice. Again this is stableford scoring.

Sandwich's and chips for lunch and then onto the main event in  the afternoon. 18 holes stroke play with a difference. This is a pairs competiton, but your partner for the day is a pro from the british open. The 17th July is the final day of the open so in the morning we will all draw a name out of the hat of players who are left in the open. Then the pro's score for the 4th round of the open will be added to your score. The winner will be the player with the lowest combined score.

After the golf we will have a few pints and a curry in the club house whilst we watch the last hour or so of the open.

This sounds like a cracking day and all for £35 which includes prizes for all the competitions and a nearest the pin and longest drive for the 18 hole round.

Pass this onto anyone who might be interested. If you would like to play you can either tell me or contact Skelton Park Golf Course on 01904 470549. They will need a £10 deposit paying as soon as you can to secure your place. Get in early because it is proving popular and places are limited.

Regards - Martin
