Hi, I'm a relatively new user with a few 'buddies' and a couple of rouns recorded.

What is the benefit of authenticating your rounds? Is it a requirement for anything in particular?

Thanks

Matthew

There is no benefit to having your round authenticated at this moment in time.

When you play an official GolfShake event your score will be recorded automatically.

Whenever I play with another GolfShaker I always get my score authenticated.

I play by the rules and know that if I cheat I'm only cheating myself.  So for me, having my round authenticated is important.

Some people could decide to 'Cheat' the system and get one of their mates to authenticate a round of golf that wasn't correct, or even played.  But, once again, all you are doing is cheating yourself and when you come to play an official event you'll be found out.

It's really there as an additional option as we push up the acceptance of the Golfshake/Golfscoretracker handicap outside of just social play.

The handicap certificate will be shortly updated to include a note of which rounds are authenticated but as Russ says the system could still be cheated if someone really wanted to.

Thanks guys,

I guessed that was the case but hadn't really considered it myself. Don't see the benefit of cheating the system, as you say if you ever need to actually use the certificate / card you'll most likely get found out. Most of my rounds will be played with fellow 'buddies' so I think we'll probably authenticate rounds as we go.

Cheers. Liking the website and whole concept so far.

This is now resolved hopefully in terms of the minor glitch/confusion
