Forum/thread hi-jacking and moderation
I know we've discussed moderation before and a few users have kindly volunteered their services once this goes live.
Anyone have any views on thread hi-jacking and whether this should be moderated ? Quite often a post can start off with 'How do I cure my slice ....' and end up after the 6th reply being completely off topic and a general dicussion about something else.
Does this help people new to the site and looking for advice on the site ??
Should these posts be moderated so that posts stay on topic ????
I've also just replied to a post about the Virtual Leader board and gone on about what makes Mr T Mr T

Anyone have any thoughts ?
Non topic related replies would just get moved to a general chat forum. Someone's suggested a live chat feature.

golf is a self regulating sport and very few players would dream of abusing the rules, the same applies to these forums. the topics themselves are meerly conversationsans and as such can sometimes go off on a tangent but usually come back to the main point. i personally don't think moderators are needad.
