Extending from the midlands to the Atlantic Ocean and covering counties Clare, Limerick, North Tipperary and South
Offaly, the Shannon region is home to many more wonders! Discover and explore the Shannon Region and its many
wonders this summer! The spectacular Cliffs of Moher have made it to the final stage of the “New 7 Wonders of
Nature" campaign. The 700ft sea cliffs are vying for one of the seven top places with 27 other finalists. The seven
locations will be chosen by votes from the public all over the world over the next two years and the winners will be
announced in 2011.
Programme:
Sun, 22 May - Transfer from Shannon Airport to The Lodge at Doonbeg based onflight schedules
10am - 12.30pm - Team Registration - Doonbeg Pavilion at The Lodge at Doonbeg
10am - 12.30pm - Event welcome pack & itinerary collection - Pavilion at The Lodge at Doonbeg
Mon, 23th May - 6am - Breakfast
7am - Tournament begins
Tues 24th May

 - 6am - Breakfast
7am - Tournament begins
Wed, 25th May
- 6am - Breakfast
7am - First group tee off
6 - 9pm - Dinner served as you return to The Lodge at Doonbeg
9.30pm - Award ceremony followed by entertainment

Transfer from The Lodge at Doonbeg to Shannon Airport based on flight schedules   Package •Airport Transfers •Welcome reception on the Sunday evening •Welcome gift •Transfers to each course •Links Golf on 3 days in Lahinch, Doonbeg & Ballybunnion •Prizes each day •Gala Dinner Ceremony on the Wednesday 25th May •Return Transfer to the airport  •Accommodation in a 2 Bed Courtyard Suite for 4 nights   Prizes & Rules 2011 Champion The 2011 Great Irish Links Champion will receive a specially commissioned Great Links crystal trophy. The champion will  also receive an invitation to return to the 2012 event with accommodation at The Lodge at Doonbeg and tournament  entry provided complimentary.   Runner up prizes: Prizes will also be present to 2nd place and 3rd place over all. Daily prizes: Each day prizes will be offer for the 3 best team scores at each course. Format: Each team will consist of 2 players. Teams shall play a better ball stableford competition and daily score will count toward the overall competition Handicap: The maximum handicap is 24. Player handicaps at May 1st 2011 will be used for the tournament. Handicap cards and handicap certificates will be need to be presented at registration on May 22nd. Handicaps will be  sloped in accordance with USGA rules & regulations. Rules: The rules of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrew's, except where modified by the local rules or  tournament committee. Scoring Committee: Two representatives from each clubs shall check, verify and report scores by email to the main  scoring centre. Prizes: Awards will be presented to the overall champions, 2nd & 3rd and 1st, 2nd & 3rd daily winners Tournament Committee: Two representatives from each club will make up the rules committee   Costs
Tournament entry is limited to 600 golfers.
A non-refundable deposit of 25% will be taken once you reserve your place.
75% balance will be taken 30 days prior to arrival.

I feel that you are advertising in the wrong place, Phil, perhaps the Savoy Hotel might be better for you.

Why on earth you feel that amateurs should subsidise the lifestyle of the pros, when in my experience with these type of events showed that not many of them were very capable at the game, with a few exceptions.
