I take it these are the current GS handicaps - and not the 'on the day' handicaps?

I believe we are playing off 3/4 handicap - is that so?

Is the official - one of the players from the Organiser's Cup?

Cheers

Sean

Hi Sean,

Yes they are the current GS handicaps and yes it is 3/4 of that on the day.

Also the officials are competing in Organsiers Cup and making sure that everything goes smoothly with the groups.

There will also be myself and Darren roaming around the course taking photo's and making sure there is no slow play.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

If you look at the top of the page - the groups have been re-done - all times in each group are correct.

Looks like I have been moved from group 1 to group10. I wondered about group 1 being a fourball followed by all threeballs,

Michael

Michael just sent you an email.

The groups are actually 4 balls with the 4th man being the 'official' in the right hand column.  They aren't qualifiers but playing in the organisers cup.

Hi Darren,
Thats fine - no problem . In fact i wasn`t looking forward to that first tee shot with everyone looking on. I sometimes get nervous on the first tee with an audience looking on lol,

kindest regards, Michael

Just realised your being very generous with your timings, 5hrs for a round!

Think you have just set yourself a challenge John to get round un under 4hours 30 mins

Wychwood is a long course with some challenging holes and a few walks from green to tee, nothing major.  So a member round is normally just under 4 and a half hours.

i had a sneaky game there yesterday, the general layout looks fantastic, but the greens were the worst i have seen for many years for not having pitch marks repaired, i know every course suffers but for some reason this course seems worse than most, it looks like one of the more pleasing on the eye courses i have seen. Good luck to all

I plyed in the organisers cup here last year.  Challenging layout that I'm looking forward to having another crack at.  My advice is to think your way round.  It's not a boomers course and those who plot their way round will score better

Don't forget your tin hats in that group Dave.  We're following you with Stu "380+" Laws.  Alternatively, you could paint a target on your back to give him something to aim at!

Don't count on on it Dave, if he's hitting the ball like he was last weekend then he'll find fairways too.  I was stood in a bunker the first time he nearly got me last week.  Come to think of it, the safest place would be on the green...

Well David, my game (or rather my head) have had a bit of a rough time as of late.  I just don't seem to be able to hit anything with any consistency at the moment, but it will come back, just got to ride the rough patch.  Having said that, the driver is superb, allowing for the vagaries of my swing.  When I'm hitting it OK I'm not a million miles off keeping up with Martin Millichip which is more than pleasing for me.  And it's so easy to keep straight, it's been a bit of a revelation.  Won't be there tomorrow but you've got to have a go with it on Saturday, very distinctive sound when you catch it right and it just flys.

Now, what about new shafts for my fairway woods and hybrid...
