Just out of interest if any what routines to you tend to use when on the Range,

Mine starts with a few stretches followed by some short 3/4 PW then work my way down the clubs to the big stick then depending how the session has progressed i my work on some shaping of shots or try and tweak any faults.

I always start with the club I tend to hit on the first at my club as that is what I would have to do on the course when I don't get a warmup.  I think Bob Rotella says something like "Practice as you mean to play"  so:

couple of swings with 2 clubs as a loosener

Imagine the first tee at my club and place a 5 iron in the middle of the fairway. One shot, no mulligans as that is what you have to do on the real thing.

(If my next round is not at my home course, then I would have started with the club I am most likely to choose for their first hole. )

After that I split the practice into 2 halves.

First Half:

I tend to start moving through the clubs with a 7 iron, onto my hybrid / 3 wood and then the driver, After nearly half the balls are gone, I then take a change and hit a few wedge shots at some targets.

Second Half:

I imagine playing some holes at a real course (usuallythe par 4's & 5's at my home course), taking a full setup / pre shot routine for each shot and mentally plotting my way round seeing what would happen, If a hole has trouble on the right etc then I use the markers on the range to indicate the trouble and play the shots I would choose to play given the conditions estimating the result and which shot I would probably play next.

This usually does the job and takes the basket of ~50 balls,

Don't know if this is the right approach or not but it seems enjoyable enough

I only use my driver on the driving range, the rest of my clubs I practice with at my golf club.
