Fed-Ex cup Question

Can anyone clarify something for me.

While watching the Barclays i heard one commentator say that the points get reset for the tour championship which is the 4th and last event but another commentator said that if anyone in the top 5 at the tour championship wins that event then they will win the Fed-Ex cup.

The commentator that said points get reset think was for golf channel showing on sky and the other was the sky reporter. Have it Sky+ so mabye rewind and make sure.
