Hi Alan, I live in Ware and Whitehills is my nearest course and was my started as the favourite when I was selecting a course to join earlier this year. I took quite a bit of time to choose and ended up joining Canons Brook in Harlow, which is a bit more expensive but in my opinion a nicer kept and more interesting course, although I still use whitehills for the driving range. Canons Brook also does not have the facility to book tee times, you just turn up and take the next slot on either the 1st or the 8th, and I've never waited more than about 10 minutes and usually gone straight off. The primary reason for not choosing Whitehills in the end was that I felt it was just a bit too up and down with too many hills to play, although having said that it was outstanding value. When my renewal comes up I will either renew at Canons Brook or go to Nazeing. Other courses I considered were: - - Panshanger - The Hertfordshire - Chadwell Springs (9 Hole) - East Herts - Nazeing - Great Hadham I'm on holiday in Portugal at the moment (getting a bit of golf in) but if you fancy a game at any of the courses let me know and I'd be happy to hook up for a round. If you want to play at Canons Brook I can sign you in as a guest for which the green fees are quite reasonable. I'm probably playing there on the 27th in the early afternoon if you fancy it - just drop me a line. |
