Just a thought at the minute but we have quite a few ideas going around the golfshake office (well Darren and I just chatting):

If we bumped up our travel section what information would you want on there? For example:

  • Destination guides U.K and Worldwide
  • Area guides
  • Golf course reviews
  • Personal views from fellow travellers
  • Incentives for people to write reviews

Also if we had the site what would you mostly search for:

  • Destination
  • Golf courses in a specific area
  • Price
  • Overnight deals
  • Travel options
 Any ideas welcome......

Travel Section (3 yrs ago I mentioned this)

Anyway my view for what its worth is;

The links need to be geographical ie; Portugal, Spain, Greece, Turkey, USA, Asia etc!!

It should include any deals or apartments that you just click into and get contact details or a pm link to get information, this will not form any part of the forum and will only be seen by going into the Travel Link. (keeps forum clean, and means all info is between the company and the member, so no long threads!!))

If there are any courses near to the accommodation then links via the GS course reviews can be clicked on. (the people posting the offer will know what courses are nearby)

Locality can have a bit of a write up as it's nice to know whether your near enough to a town or village or whether your in a complex away from everything and therefore will need a car all the time.

Having spent a lot of time organising and sourcing breaks I'll talk to Darren to mention options that will take too long to write down at this moment.

I would like to see the option of putting in a location and then searching for courses within a specified radius.

For example, you are working away for a week and fancy a game one evening.  You type in your postcode and look for all courses in a ten mile radius.  You click on the links and pick your course.  You could even supply a link direct to our friends at teeofftimes.co.uk to book a tee time (i'm sure they won't mind!)

teeofftimes.co.uk have the search facility for a radius around a postcode so I know it can be done
