Just out of interest what sort rules do your societyies apply in regards to handicaps. For instance the society i golf with have the following rules 1. Winner of a event is cut by 2 for the year. 2 If a player scores more than 32 points they are cut by 1. So in my case i started the year as a 13, won the first event with 41 points and was cut to 10, then finshed 2nd with 38 points and was cut to 9 for our event this weekend. and will hopefully be cut again by 2 or 3.

Hi Martin, I run our work society; this year, based on someone else's previous experience, the winner of an event gets cut 1 shot. In addition to this, we work out the average points scored for the day, and if everybody who scores more points than the average gets cut 0.3 hcp per point above the average and vice-versa. I have been playing well this year, and gone down from 11 to 4 handicap (my proper handicap is 12.5 down from around 18 at the start of the year also)
Last year, the winner got cut 2, 2nd 1, 3rd stayed the same, and rest +0.4 |
