Regrooving clubs?

I have only been playing since the start of the summer and bought some clubs 2nd hand to get me started I had intended on upgrading at the end of the summer but quite like the irons I have they need re-gripping which I'm going to do myself also on the 7iron upwards they have a few chips and are quite worn is it worth having them regrooved? Is this a job for a pro as I've seen some regrooving tools for sale on the tinternet but have no idea how good these are. Has anyone had there clubs done and sid you notice a difference?

Thanks

Baz

It's easy to do yourself Barry with some patience.

Yes the tools are good and they are (as you say) easy to get on the web, if you need any more info see this link to an early posting on the subject;

check if you've got square or v grooves 1st as I believe a different method is needed for either one.

That's intersting John as I was only aware of the sharpener having a different blade ie; V or U

Same as mine John, but I still do the same action whatever the groove, John seems to be implying i should be doing something different

I think the different method John might be going on about is if you have the single ended groove sharpener........If you have U grooves you have it set 90deg to the club face when sharpening and if you have V grooves then you need to set it a 45deg

Practice swing for each groove?

If I start now they'll be ready in time for the Algarve...

So some of you finally caught up with what I said about 2 years ago about groove sharpeners.

Looks like I am a trend setter

I don't have a clue who they are talking about. Both of their replies show up as blank.

Probably for the best..Leyo is mad at me for out driving him.

And Santo....Well...It's Santo...No more to be said
