The purist amongst you will mock this based on technique.

Got me thinking tonight whilst clearing out my bag and finding 4 old gloves hidden away, all with holes etc

My current gloves is showing signs of coming to an end after around 7 rounds, is this normal or just my poor technique.  Issues are on the right edge of palm and thumb  serious question so don't mock my poor grip.   Decent brand before anyone asks.

So how many gloves do you have in your bag ? and how often do your gloves last ?

Never given it much thought, Darren but I feel sure that my gloves last a decent time as I don't appear to be hard on them and I use the snake eyes glove made from cabretta leather which is very thin.

Darren,

Golf gloves vary enormously in both quality, efficiency, durability and price.

As a longdrive competitor I use very large grips, and the very best gloves which I can afford in order to be able to hold the club lightly at high speed. As, only loose muscles are fast muscles.

My gloves also have to breath exceptionally well as I can hit for up to two hours on the range, and each year compete in very humid USA conditions.

It is generally true that the more one pays for a glove the better it performs.

I find that the best gloves tested by me so far are Cutters Pro Fit Gold O19X. These cost around £23. each once VAT etc. has been added. The only UK distributor I know of are EP Sports. They are not however a perfect fit and appear to be tailored to a strange shaped hand. Also if your normal golf size is 'Large' then one needs to order 'XL.'

The way they are wearing (or better expressed 'not wearing'  ) at the moment suggests that they could last at least five times longer than my former gloves 'Bionic.'

But, the life of a golf glove is not simply dependent on external wear: If one subjects a glove to long intense hitting sessions then it gets repeatedly wet on the inside due to perspiration. (I turn my gloves inside out to dry). After numerous soakings the leather reaches a stage where it gets wet far more quickly than it ever did before.  So, the time can be right to dispose of a glove well before outside wear suggests. But most golfers do not subject their gloves to the punishment which I do.

I cannot afford the more expensive kangaroo skin gloves (from a different manufacturer) which apparently perform exceptionally well.

So, to date, after testing between 13 and 15 gloves from various manufacturers Cutters comes out on top by a mile, but their odd fit makes them far from being perfect.

I guess that tour players have individually fitted gloves?  I believe such to be essential in order to compete fully efficiently, but again I could not afford such and I have no sponsors.

The golf gloves I use are Trilogy Advanced synthetic material. I buy them in bulk (20 at a time) from Direct golf. They work out at £2.50 per glove.

Each glove lasts for ages. I first used my current glove in February, this year, whilst in the Algarve, and it's still doing fine. About 30 rounds of golf so far.

A few years back a freind of mine won a Callaway golf glove, retailing at £17. It lasted 3 rounds before the stiching gave out. He was given a replacement glove and that one lasted 2 rounds.

My gloves don't last longer than 3 rounds but i think its because i grip the club to hard.

If u want cheap gloves go to Sportsworld  they have loads of gloves for really good prices.

Seems to vary a lot between the different brands I have tried.

Footjoy don't seem to last very long.

Titleist permasoft is one of the best gloves I have tried for durability along with the wilson staff pro soft.
