I am now confident enough in my game togo for an official club handicap. How do I do this ? I know that i have to play from the medal tee's and have my card signed by someone already with a handicap. Do I have to play from the medal tees during a medal day or can I do it at another time when there is no competition on ? Does the person who scores my card have to be a member of my club or can it be someone who is a member elsewhere ? |

hi martin, at my club you can mark a card for your handicap at any time and you dont have to play from the white tees, yellows will do. the marker of your card should be a member of your club with an official handicap, and a total of three cards have to be marked on three seperate occasions. i think these are the general guide lines at most clubs but make sure you check with yours first as they may slightly differ. if your interested in getting a few more tips to helpyou lower your scores take a look at www.freegolfswingtips.co.uk cheers lee

This is how it works at my golf club. Play three rounds of golf (any tee) with a member who has a handicap. Hand them in and wait for you name to posted onto the handicap list. Once you have your handicap you can then play in the minor club competitions, like the medals. You need to hand in three cards from the medals to qualify to play in the major club competitions. Then you need to keep you handicap current. Russ |
