Chris, Why the quick sale ? they have only just been released ? What's the problem with it ? |

No problem with it Martin, just don't need two. I already have one through my job, with a years Subscription. I'd put this one in my shop, but its really not something my members would be tempted to buy. They think the SG2.5 at £150 is expensive. I would have put it on Ebay but the snooty people at Skycaddie told me I wasn't allowed to. |

| Ok, so you have already used one. What do you think and how do they compare to others in the market |

Its really good Martin, now displays so much information, more then most people would probably need. Out of the box it located satellite signals within a couple of minutes and mainted good signal strength all round. On previous Skycaddies and GPS models I've tried sometimes the reception drops a little at various places and then the yardage information fluctuates a bit. Haven't found this on the SGX in 4 rounds played with it. The updated views on the SGX are most welcome like having a course planner on the tee, you now see whats out in front of you and can get distances to all points you may need. Older models used to just tell you there was a bunker at x yards or a pond at y yards etc now you can see where that is and what its shaped like. I also think the device is a good size now. Bit like an iPhone or IPod Touch in size, big large easy to read screen but slim so when clipped on your belt or in a pocket you don't notice it. Bigger then previous Skycaddies for sure. I also like all the new stat tracking and score tracking features on the device, letting you save 10 rounds worth of data you can then upload to Skycaddie Site to evaluate and compare with others. I definitely would recommend it to anyone looking to get a GPS or Rangefinder. I know some people get put off by the yearly subscription but you what you pay for, uptodate information and course accurate maps. Skycaddie re-map and measure 250 courses a month, someone has to pay for that, so there is the subscription fee. |

| Why can skycaddie dictate where you sell it???????????? |
![]() Christopher WatmoreHandicap : 12.4 Reply : Mon 24th May 2010 11:39 |
| Because like a lot of these Manufacturers now anyone with connections to an Account has terms and conditions imposed upon them to be able to maintain an account with them. Skycaddie's terms state that Accounts must not sell their products via the internet via website or sites such as auctions sites (Ebay etc). Apparently they have specific Internet only Accounts for this and want to try to protect the price of their product. Just sucks for me that working in a Golf Shop I'm always hasseled when trying to sell my own stuff, because they think I'm selling it on behalf of the company. |

| If you bought it through your own funds and not the club account then they can't say nothing!!!! if however you got it through the club to gain the discount you would have obviously received then Yes they can. |
